Village Voice: While plenty of neighborhood restaurants are making tiny, expensive, artisan pies, this little stall makes a far superior version. Read: extra oil, extra herbs, and shockingly good tomato sauce.
Village Voice: This Mexican bakery brought with it pan dulce and antojitos, but as the menu expanded, the baked goods faded away and what we're left with is one of the best and cheapest Mexican restaurants in town.
Village Voice: Local, sustainable, and meaty. The Sunday pig roast is the star and has become someone of a legendary dish here, but excellent food comes out of this kitchen all week long.

Village Voice: Though it's turned a lot towards duck, old favorites like fatty pork buns smeared with hoisin and the whole pork shoulder mobbed with raw oysters remain. And did we mention the desserts?
Village Voice: The menu at Prune is always a surprise, but they manage to make an array of seemingly random ingredients work together in ways you would have never imagined. Go at lunch when you can nab a seat!
