Giant museum with lots to explore, really great for inquisitive kids. Some of the exhibits are really dated, but the new Pacific North West tribal exhibit is fantastic.

Cute little zoo for a low price that is nicely maintained. Loved the mountain lion area.
Good southern food in a cute restaurant. The chicken, cornbread and Mac and cheese are all standouts. Have heard good things about the fried fish and brisket as well.
Order online for pickup on the weekends to avoid a long wait. Giant sandwiches and salads are great. Pizzas are good but not really kid friendly.
Two small playgrounds for kids and the tiny botanical garden make this a good picnic spot between wineries if you have kids.

Beautiful and incredible scenery the drive up is a bit of a white knuckle experience due to no guardrails and big horn sheep in the road. Be weary of altitude sickness.
Steep but short hike to the lake. Great views and not as crowded as you would think. Just be on the lookout for thunderstorms.
Hands down the very best food and service in Aspen. They go out of their way to make every meal special and tailored just for you. Venison, lobster and tomato dishes are aces if you visit in summer.
Stunning location and vistas if a clear day. You’ll want to hike all the hills you can see.
Such a fun place to explore and climb around in caves (if you aren’t scared of heights). You can also swim if you like cold water.
