Nowhere on the course is as peaceful as the green for the 10th hole. The wind coming down the valley is so serene.
They have a very impressive anime selection here. You rarely see such a large selection in stores. Plus many are used and very affordable!

A Chevron conveniently located right off the highway, though I've found the cashiers to be a bit brusque. I can't vouch for the restaurant attached, but it tends to change names every few years.
Burger was good but fries were super soft and greasy. They were dumped in the bag on the burger. Messy. Not sure the meal justifies the price versus Burger King.

Good pizza and salad bar. They're understaffed though, and there is a lot of turnover so it's tough to know how good the service will be. Check your receipt too, they ring it up wrong occasionally.
A nice location, Regions tried to start charging fees, but they backed down. Friendly tellers here too.
The Visual Art Center replaced the original Smith Hall, which was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. Studio and Art History courses are taught here.
If you're looking for anime, look elsewhere, they've scaled their section back. It's quite paltry.

Neat atmosphere and a good sound system too. They played some nice 80s tunes when I visited. The "late night" menu is appetizers and pizza, so make sure you go early if you want more selection.
As a Mississippian I'd say while the po-boys aren't authentic they're still quite good. Excellent beignets too.
Highlights include John Singer Sargent's "Miss Elsie Palmer" as well as "Made in the USA" by Ed Ruscha.
The lobby is cool, but the rooms are a bit ordinary. The air conditioner isn't much for cooling, even had them check it and they said nothing was wrong.

An excellent selection of manga and anime. For used titles I'd suggest Book Off which is a few blocks away. Anything newish though and chances are they'll have it here. Plus Japanese manga weeklies.
Seeing the Klimt and Munch paintings brought tears to my eyes. A very emotional experience indeed. The fourth floor is where the best pieces are, but don't miss the Superflat work downstairs.
A wonderful exhibit or Mary and Percy Shelley's books, writings, journals and even a bit of Percy's skull is one display here. Best of all it's completely free.
The room I had on the 13th floor (1350) was top notch. The only negative I had was that they charged you for Internet access. Other Hilton's I've stayed at had complimentary wifi for guests.
An excellent selection, depending on when you come you may find some older used manga (English or Japanese). Was surprised they had Mai the Psychic Girl (in English) but no Urusei Yatsura.

Pres Obama stayed here a few days before I arrived. It's a short walk to the River Walk area, though jerk waiter in the hotel restaurant tried to stop making omelets 15 mins early. Manager fixed him!
The layout is quite sprawling and difficult to navigate, but the indoor and outdoor pools are great, as is the hotel bar, Rick's. I stayed here a week upon moving to Colorado Springs. Thumbs up!
This Barnes & Noble has a much better selection (especially of manga and magazines) than the one next to the Citadel Mall.
They have Bouguereaus, Oldenbergs, a Monet, the Chapman Brothers, Barbara Kruger and even a sculpture by Yoshitomo Nara! Plus a solid floor dedicated to Asian art.
Much better than the nearby (overpriced) PF Chang's. Shocking what you're paying for the atmosphere (and crummy service) there.
Well maintained walking trails around a lake populated with geese. In the winter it freezes over for picturesque views.
I agree about the service, it was pretty bad. It's dingy inside too, and I felt the (proprietary?) salad dressings weren't anything to get excited about. The soft serve ice cream had good toppings.

If you go to the Mississippi Rest Area up the road they have much better facilities and free Coke! This one is tiny and dingy.
You can get the exact same food for a 1/3 the price at Pei Wei down the road. Paying purely for atmosphere here. Plus waiter slipped his tip out of the change he owed me I realized on the way out.
Why do they expect a tip when I do take out? They are surly if you don't tip them for bagging your food!
A great, great restaurant. If you go before 4 pm you can get the lunch prices and the Spicy Chicken which isn't on the dinner menu.
