If you're doing a single day tour, start with this one. Very peaceful hillside garden that you can stroll through after the temple.
Make sure to continue walking past the temple's garden exit and you'll stumble onto the Bamboo grove, which then leads back to the main road.
Can't miss this golden temple...pretty crowded, but work your way over to the left after entering for clear shots.
The temple is at the base of the hill is bright and bold, but the real highlight is the walk up the mountain through the gates. Save energy for it, as it's about two hours. Great view of Kyoto.
