Tables by the window make for good people/puppy watching. Coffee is some of the best in the city and the pastries aren't half bad. Friendly hipster staff. No wi-if is the best part.
Go all the way to the back, the very back to find an enclosed garden that feels great in winter or summer. And order the rosemary chicken sandwich. Yes they have more than good coffee here.

I don't believe much in god, but if god made an iced coffee it would be the New Orleans from Blue Bottle. It's pretty much divine.
Best espresso in midtown, great pastries, muffins, and cookies, and a always friendly / never snarky staff. Just don't get elbowed by a Greenwich suit trying to get his liquid sugar.
One of the best places to go for a simple, strong, tasty coffee. If you come often, get the frequent buyer card so you get your 11th drink free! Also take note that it is cash only!
Finally, a place that makes espresso that doesn't taste burned. You'd think this wouldn't be such a widespread problem in New York, but it is.

best part about Joe is that the baristas are without question #1 in nyc but don't take themselves too seriously. bonus? it actually means something to be a regular here which is hard to find anymore.
the espresso is otherworldly...space is tight but I've never not found a seat...any bigger and you'd have to hear some NYU talk smart

Best small coffee shop in Chelsea. Great pulls and strong well crafted drinks. Tim is the manager. He's great and the staff are all super friendly and fun.
