The county is named in honor of General Joseph Warren, an American Revolutionary War hero of the Battle of Bunker Hill.
It is served by the Adirondack, and is 400 yards from the ferry to Shoreham, Vermont. Unlike the Port Kent station which also serves a cross-lake ferry, Ticonderoga is enclosed and is not seasonal.
Doctor Gaston is a great pediatrician. She will acknowledge and talk to both parents while in an appointment. (I have found a lot of children’s doctors ignore the dads and will only talk to the mom.)
NY 9P meets NY 423 in the town of Stillwater and Interstate 87 in Saratoga Springs. In its final mile, NY 9P serves the Saratoga Race Course.
There are tennis courts and playground, but the “swimming” area is more of wading pool and the water is only 2 feet at the deepest.
Built in 1927, in part with timbers from Revolutionary War era structures, the blockhouse is a reconstruction of early 18th century blockhouses of the region.
A scenic park with a museum & gift shop, benches & picnic tables, and fishing along the river is available. A restroom is being constructed and will be completed for the 2018 opening.
