My favorite bar in Bucktown. It's THE place to catch a Marquette game. Awesome beer list, good food, and $5 make-your-own Bloodies on the weekend. A block away from the 606.
A delightful dive bar with $3 pints of Coors heavy, $3 shots of bitters (woof), one other rotating draft, and an extensive bottle list.
Awesome pizza, even more awesome beer. The crust is unreal. Make sure to get a side of Everidae sauce!
A staple in Logan Square. The burgers and fish fry are solid. Make sure to try one of their weekly tapped beers! Good date spot, good place to crash at the end of the night, good casual dinner joint.
Great burgers that are perfectly cooked. Pretty expensive (expect $18 and up for a burger and fries with a few toppings). Great spot, BYOB. Get the black truffle mayo on the side.
Best option for cheap Chinese food in Logan Square. Kind of hit-or-miss but they have huge portions. I recommend the BBQ pork fried rice and the General Tso chicken.
Where else are you gonna pick up chicken feet, palm sugar, gallons of soy sauce, fresh fish you can't pronounce, and Korean snacks?
Anyone who grew up in Elmwood Park, River Forest, Forest Park, and Oak Park knows that Alpine is the truth. Best Italian and turkey subs around. The bread makes the sandwich.
This was some surprisingly delicious fried chicken - hint of spicy. Prices were pretty reasonable. This seems like a good place to mow down some fried chicken, drink beers, and watch the game.
A Chicago staple. You gotta stop on Damen when she's out and try the tamales with verde sauce and pollo.
Famous has the best selection of craft beer in the area. The employees are very helpful and willing to fill you in on what's in stock, and when.
"Oh my God." Best Mexican food in Chicago. Expensive, but worth it as this ain't a divey taco joint. If you're there on a busy weekend evening, make sure you try one of the specials.
I have nothing but good things to say. Everything on the menu is delicious and the daily specials are great values. They have rotating soups - all delicious. Don't sleep on the jerk marinade for home!
Chicken enchiladas with green or red sauce are my favorite. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. But be aware: this Mexican joint is NOT open late.
Cool bar by the same folks who own Aberdeen Tap. The bartender was very knowledgable and seemed passionate about the beers on tap. Nice place for a quick beer or cocktail.
Killer tiki bar with boozy drinks in the $13+ range. If you don't like pineapple juice (like me) then be sure to try a Jet Pilot.
