Underrated friendly shop. Good food, reasonable prices, responsibly sourced stuff. Frre wifi. Hipsterrific, but whatevs, it's the good kind of hipster.
Great gelatos and nice fresh squeeze lemonade and orange juice. The beat though is seating at the park on a nice Chicago's summer night.

Totally chill place to sit on floor cushions and pass time. Great coffee, juice, vegetarian sandwiches. Writer Aleksandar Hemon is a regular.
Open until midnight on weekends! Great place to go if you're not in the mood for the bar scene. Live music with a European feel I haven't seen anywhere else in Chicago.
You might need to fight for a seat in this crowded coffee shop, but once you do, relax with some Metropolis coffee and people-watch. I especially like the vintage Nintendo console they've got.
