The biggest collection of pinball in all of Europe. This place is HUGE! Admission is less than $10USD I believe and it's good for all day. They've got pinball dating back to the 40s.
You can pay to go to the top level or stay on the ground level for free! While looking at the cafe go to the left. There is a small opening where you can get to a ledge to overlook the city for free!
The complex showcases statues of key Hungarian figures. Nearby: City Park, a lake where you can ice skate in winter, Vajdahunyad Castle, Széchenyi Bath, Gundel restaurant and Budapest Zoo.
Dark, well told museum. The courtyard area is beautiful. The walls around the inside are listed the names of many of the victims.
Honors Jews who were killed during WW II.Ordered to take off their shoes, shot at the edge of the water so that their bodies fell into the river. Represents their shoes left behind on the bank.
Read a wikipedia page on this era before going. It was a little bit confusing if you're not familiar with Europe post WW2. But a massive museum & english writing at the beginning of all rooms
A super knowledgable staff. They are always helpful and nice. Don't miss this small cafe, even if it's a quick to-go coffee, because I think it's the best coffee (and for sure flat white) in town.
The outside was one of many inspirations for Wed Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel. Stand in the garden across the street and admire the architecture.
Don't be afraid to enter the Szimpla bar! It might not look great but it's unique and you can have so much fun here with the right company!
