Closest thing to a pub in Iceland. Hang out with the artists, politicians and what nots. Be sure to order the Bríó beer and act all local.

Fish soup is really good.Salted cod is too salty for my preference but lamb is a MUST ORDER.Remember to make reservation as this place is very popular. Food is hearty with lots of texture and flavor.
Quite small portions, so make sure you order enough tapas plates. Price is ok...slightly expensive for the amount you get. Good service though. Cozy, warm atmosphere.

Phenomenal tasting menu made with fresh ingredients from the restaurant's garden! If you're not up for the wine pairing, ask your waiter to choose a few wines by the glass. :)
Look for staff members taking pictures using an iPad. They will email it for free (probably puts you on the mailing list) - a nice memento of the experience
The set menus were excellent, each offering a mixture of seafood and other dishes (lamb and horse were both delicious).
The interior looks like it was decorated by Wes Anderson's set designers. The bar/restaurant has great food and a good selection of Icelandic microbrews.
By far the best coffee in town, really personal, and the baristas love to talk about coffee.
A must visit. This little cafe is friendly, relaxed and looks like a living room. Pop in for a coffee or a hot chocolate.
The wifi password is "iloveyou". Laundry is 500 ISK for a wash and 100 ISK for 15 minutes in the dryer.

Hands down the best Café in Reykjavík. Super nice staff and great atmosphere! I recommend everything on the menu, for example a bagel w/ black pepper&red onion-creamcheese or the vegetable quiche :)

Good for a quick bfast. Supposedly they have free wifi but the password posted didn't work.
Te & kaffi is the biggest coffee chain in Iceland (Read: Starbucks). They still do great coffee and differ from most of the other locations that they also have great selection of tea.
Free design exhibits on the ground floor and daily 1,500kr tour of the building. Best deal is the 4th floor bar with a killer happy hour, from 5-7p.
A must when you visit Reykjavik. Located along the waterfront path that will bring you to the old town or the port.

White fish, shrimp and scallop kebabs are all delicious. Lobster soup is a must! Very reasonably priced.

Magical place to visit. Check out the water with all the coins from the ages between the continents. Also the main path along the "wall" leads to a waterfall to the right if you're facing it.

Beautiful waterfall where you can walk behind the waterfall. The climb is not easy so be aware of slippy stones and you will definitely get soaked.
Beautiful beach but be aware - the waves are strong and a big. First thing we saw was a family being too close to the waves and their son got dragged out. Watch the waves!
Definitely my favorite bar in Reykjavik. Love the atmosphere. Knowledgable, courteous bartenders! And while I didn't try the pizza downstairs, it smells delicious.
Touristy, but well located. Grab a window seat for excellent people watching. House red wine is decent. Service is slow - be patient.
