Perhaps because it’s tucked away on 13th street, the Daily is one of Portland’s hidden gems. One of my favorite low-key places for great food and conversations.
Instead of focusing on any one roaster, Barista focuses on showcasing great coffee from around the world. The constantly variety and high execution makes this one of my favorite cafés in the world.
You can never go wrong with ice cream, but you can certainly take it places it’s never been before, like Salt & Straw does with awesomely unexpected flavor combos. This ain’t your old school Rainbow.
Ramen and rice bowl heaven. Handmade noodles, slow food, and pop-up shop origins, this was an instant favorite for me that I’m sure will have lasting appeal.
Everything here—from the drinks to the sauces with is always first rate. The only negative is that lots of people know how awesome it is and it can get packed up and loud. Always a winner.
Sublime. Tiny. Handcrafted. Spella roasts their own beans and produces exquisite espresso drinks. Always stunning. I've had some of my best cappas *ever* here. No kidding.
