It's a large airport with a lot of distance between gates. Make sure you leave yourself enough time from dropping off your rental car to your flight.

Security here is a well coordinated ballet, but there's a large mix of nationalities, which make for long wait times during rush hours. Be smart and arrive early.

Parking is pretty convenient but cab to DC is pricey. TSA lines can get long but never spend more than 30 mins in them. Although I have had spent hours in immigration check lines many times. :(
Nana9月 17, 2016The train thing is really weird. Airport is old and so there isn't much there. If you're at D gate go to potbelly sandwich and get an Italian 😋
- Get there early, security can be a pain and getting to your gate can take time as well.
Everything about Dulles is great. Easy access, easy parking and easy gates.

Please make sure your traveling dogs are trained. Not fun having 3 dogs getting into a barking contest in the main terminal. Other than that it’s a gorgeous terminal.

Add (decent) shopping options (e.g., Pink, mom-and-pop boutiques, make up stores, even a CVS)

DCA-Regan is easier to navigate but Dulles has more coast-to-coast directs. Expect bumpy landing due to strong winds!

Zain M.8月 9, 2014There is free Wi-Fi, extremely well maintained with great choices of places to eat.- No road signs tell you how to Econ Parking from Departure zones. Take Daily Lot 1 Exit, go past it, make a right, next right, next left, then watch for road signs on right. Near gas & fire stations.
California tortilla is a great value. 8 bucks for a huge burrito bowl
Jacob Canfield4月 21, 2013The "diamond lane" tip in the baggage claim is not always open, so don't depend on it. From start to finish, it took us 46 minutes (timed by my iPhone) to get through security and to our gate in C.
The airport is well run and the management and staff are very friendly and helpful

- Sometimes hot and nasty, other times cold and clammy...this is one airport that I could scratch off ever visiting again...and never miss it.

You can use Uber.com to get a black sedan to or from DC. The flat rate of $80 to/from inside the beltway is comparable to taxi fare and is a LOT better service!

Anthony Van Dette4月 6, 2015Nice airport. Got to the gate within ten minutes from the time I walked through the front door.- California Tortilla located in terminal C. Can even take shuttle to terminal C & walk to Terminal D if that's where your flight is. :-)
I always have enjoyable travels here. Lots of areas to eat or shop for travel essentials.

Indoor Pet Relief Area across from gate D10. No need to leave security. It's small but sanitary and does the job. All airports should have this.

Wait until after 4:30 and it clears out. Good wine selection. Senator Lounge buffet has hot and cold items.
Dragos I6月 14, 2014If you take United and get stuck overnight (very likely with United) make sure you pick up an overnight lot from them. Check their luggage claim office.
