My new favorite place to work in this part of Midtown. Decent coffee, but comfortable, spacious seating. Good ambience, not too loud, free WiFi. Road warriors rejoice!

Naveen & I built 1/2 of the foursquare prototype here (mostly at the back table near the bathroom). The "mayor" feature in 4SQ came from our buddy Chad making fun of us for camping at that table :)
There is no outlet power available on the first floor - so head upstairs, where there is lots of extra seating as well as comfortable outdoor space for the nice weather.

They roast their own coffee here, and it's usually great. Try a single origin espresso or pourover and something from their Essex St bakery. A good number of plugs but sometimes overwhelmed wifi.

Great place to sneak an iced coffee and a mini peanut butter and jelly sandwich (on baguette no less) while you're walking around Soho. Also a good place to chill and do some work on the long benches.
Stumptown coffee, free wifi, books on the bookshelves and couches in the back. Reminds me of the old school coffee shops we'd hang out at in high school. Awesome addition to the area!

Tucked into an amazingly quiet & serene corner of Brooklyn just a short walk from the Promenade, Iris is a charming place w/ laid back atmosphere. The smoked curried turkey salad is incredibly tasty!

Photographer Sam Horine calls it "a unicorn" (we're surprised he's not the Mayor). A knowledgeable, unpretentious staff. Pro tip: Sunday morning they do homemade cinnamon buns and bacon cheddar buns.

A large gloomy space sporting a beautiful Mistral espresso machine, Modca has wifi, plugs, many tables & one big communal one. They use 49th Parallel Coffee from Vancouver and prepare it acceptably.
A new Stumptown shop in Williamsburg serving quality espresso & rotating French press offerings, lots of seats & plugs & strong wifi, built by the owner w/ reclaimed barn wood and found objects.
Great noms and coffee, wifi, and a lovely backyard. Try the pesto baked eggs and an arnold palmer. If you're working inside, bring a sweater- it can get cold with the AC.

Smallish, comfortable, with a staff that relentlessly curates a strong indie soundtrack overhead, sometimes of the 90's variety. Good food, solid wifi.
Good place to work during the week, but no laptops allowed on the weekends. Cash only.
One of the few places in the city where you can park with your laptop and work while enjoying your coffee.
The food is aight but the vibe is great. Very laid-back and casual. If you're looking to get work done in your sweatpants come here. It's not one of the trendy/beautiful people cafes in the EV.

One of our all time favorite coffee shops around! Counter culture coffee+great baristas+cool space+free wifi = you have to go here immediately! You'll have some of the best espresso around!
If you're trying to be productive over your coffee, sit in the back. The view of Cortelyou road through the big front windows is way too interesting and distracting.
