Suzie Fritz3月 5, 2012Had an amazing stay here! we were on the 11th floor on the end, great view,clean, great location, quiet, very comfy beds, which made us sleep in! but I loved it & def stay here again!

Luigi Mondi3月 26, 2013Large flats teen TVs, incredibly comfy beds, very clean, and charming. Close to the T (green line) and the Common. Only drawback is the quite expensive fee for wifi ($12.50 per device per day).
teresa Schmitz5月 10, 2011Years ago there may have been mold. I'm here now, 5/10/2011 and see/smell no mold. Gorgeous, grand hotel. One of my favorites. Check out Sweet, AK cupcake shop on newbury-aboit a half mile stroll
They turn off the A/C when it is cool outside, so it gets warm in the rooms. Ask for a window fan when you check in, and ask to have someone open the window for you since they are bolted shut.

Andrew C.6月 12, 2016After the renovations, the rooms are very well anointed. Things are brighter, calm and muted colours. Really like the new look. Service is still impeccable.
This is a great hotel. Friendly staff, historical. Room sizes reflect age, but are very nice. Close to the T and a nice shopping district, parks, harbor, etc.
Learn about the history of the hotel just around the corner from the main desk. This is the original bar drink menu.

Beth Ann8月 20, 2018Good location. We have a suite and it's small so I can imagine how small the regular rooms are. The valet parking fee if $51 per day, even if you are a hotel guest.
People weren't so fat and self righteous as they are now ninety years ago. That's why the rooms are small. It gets the job done; you have a place to rest your head when you're not exploring downtown.
Historical hotel with a very nice wall photos and a wonderful view of Boston..btw location is also great, in the heart of the city

This hotel is very nice! Take a look around and notice all of detail. If these walls could talk! Great location as well!

Very warm and friendly hotel. They just made the whole hotel wireless (at a fee & NOT free) and installed 37 inch Plasma TVs in every room.

It's a historical hotel people, of course it's going to be "dated". Beautiful moldings & fixtures, very well kept despite age. Extremely friendly service.

Trisha Reynolds7月 21, 2013Mixed review. The A/C didn't work at all. Our room never got below 75 so they comped our room and gave us breakfast vouchers. Walls were very thin. Loved the location and history of the hotel.
Johnny W2月 26, 2014Historical yes but not up to par. Room was cold with temperature at 84 which felt like 62. Call about get issue and draft from windows and they bring me a portable heater wtf !!
Hotel is getting a bit run down but the gym in the basement is very nice.
